Here at Whonnock Roofing and Gutters Ltd we are proud to announce our partnership with the ECO friendly Malarkey Vista/Legacy shingles. They have named us as their certified installers and we couldn’t be more proud. Let me tell you why.
1.) UPCYCLES MATERIALS: Recycled materials and plastics are elevated into a higher quality product, improving shingle strength and longevity. In fact, each roof (approx 30sq) diverts the equivalent of 5 rubber tires and 350 milk jugs from a landfill.
2.) REDUCES AIR POLLUTION: 3M Smog-Reducing Granules harness sunlight to convert smog into water soluble ions, actively reducing smog air pollution. (This was featured in TIME magazine’s 50 best inventions of 2018). In fact, each roof has the smog fighting power of 2 trees!
3.) ASPHALT SHINGLES ARE RECYCLABLE: At the end of their life, these shingles can be recycled into most metro areas. These shingles are sometimes ground up and used in paving applications.
4.) GREEN CIRCLE CERTIFICATION: Green Circle provides third party certification of sustainability though meticulous scientific evaluations. In the Green Circle certification process, diversion and reduction can be achieved through a combination of approved methods. Malarkey employed the methods of source reduction, recycling, energy recovery and reuse of materials to achieve waste diversion from landfills.
